LUBBOCK, TX – Vexus Fiber has officially declared the City of Canyon a Certified Gigabit City Powered by Vexus. This marks a major milestone for the City along with Vexus now that the company’s ultra-high-speed, multi-gigabit fiber optic network is available to a majority of households and businesses throughout the City. To date, Vexus has installed around 125 miles of fiber optic internet throughout Canyon, bringing future-proof multi-gigabit speeds to residents and businesses through their privately funded $9.5 million investment in the community.

Vexus has serviced Canyon since 2020 as it began building fiber-to-the-premise infrastructure across the community. Since then, Vexus has expanded service to almost 7,000 residents and almost 500 businesses across Canyon.

Certification for a Certified Gigabit City Powered by Vexus is earned once a majority of households and business locations have access to Vexus’ symmetrical fiber optic internet speeds of at least 1 Gigabit. The number of households is based on the total Households and the number of business locations is based on total All firms from the U.S. Census Bureau.
